Hey folks – I hope you all are doing well!
This is one of those cocktails that feels equally at home on a cozy winter evening or a warm summer night, especially when you’re craving something fresh, fruity, and easy to put together. So, let’s dive into this Blackberry Mojito Cocktail.
Why You’ll Love This Blackberry Mojito Cocktail
- Bright and fruity. Fresh blackberries add natural sweetness and a vibrant berry flavour that pairs beautifully with mint and lime.
- Refreshing year-round. Light, crisp, and balanced, this drink works just as well for cozy winter gatherings as for warm summer evenings.
- Easy to make. With simple ingredients and minimal prep, this cocktail comes together quickly and effortlessly.
- Visually appealing. The deep purple hue from muddled blackberries makes this mojito especially eye-catching in the glass.
Ingredients You Will Need for Blackberry Mojito
To make this Blackberry Mojito cocktail, you will need the following ingredients:
- Rum works as the base spirit in this recipe. You will need light, white rum for this recipe. Dark or spiced rum will not work as it will overpower the delicate floral and fruity aroma. If you don’t like or have rum, vodka or gin should work just fine; if going with gin, try picking a more neutral, less juniper-forward flavour.
- Lime juice – freshly squeezed lime juice provides the tartness and citrusy notes that perfectly complement the other flavors.
- Fresh mint – muddled fresh mint adds a cool, refreshing herbal element.
- Fresh blackberries – add the freshness and juiciness. While fresh fruit and berries for mojito are always the best choice, I would say you can also go with frozen blackberries – in my humble opinion, freezing do not affect much their flavour and texture. Just be sure to thaw them in advance.
- Sugar or simple syrup – for added sweetness.
- Ice cubes.
- Sparkling water or club soda – optionally, for topping. I normally don’t add it and enjoy a mojito with plenty of ice instead.

Your Blackberry Mojito recipe is a perfect way to savor the last days of summer! I love how you’ve combined fresh blackberries, mint, lime, and rum to create a refreshing and luscious drink. Thanks for sharing this delightful cocktail recipe that’s sure to be a hit at any summer gathering!
Gorgeous photos, Ben! We’ve been loving blackberry cocktails this summer, so you’re speaking my language. Trying your recipe this weekend!
Thank you Marissa!
I’m looking forward to the fall temperatures as well as the traditional recipes that come out this time of the year. But it’s still warm here in the mountains, and that means a good mojito is in order! And we just picked up a flat of blackberries at the farmer’s market. It’s like you knew I was looking for a way to use some of those berries!
Yes David, I definitely knew. There’s one thing though. I made and photographed this mojito last summer. Does it mean I am a prophet? LOL
What a refreshing drink! Love the color of blackberries muddled up in this! Save me a glass (or two!)
Thank you Michelle!
It’s always sad to see summer go. September is actually one of my favorite months, because everyone abandons the summery places, and you can have them all to yourself! And it’s usually still sunny and warm, but not unbearably hot. All of this is better, of course, with a nice, fruity cocktail!
Thank you Jeff!
Such a beautiful and refreshing drink! Don’t you just love the blackberries!
Thanks Angie!
