Hello, folks! How are you doing? I hope you are having a wonderful and restful weekend. I hope sipping a cocktail or two. And if you are looking for something light and fresh, I am happy to share with you a new recipe.

I am talking about this Violet Mojito!

Why You’ll Love This Violet Mojito

  • A floral twist on a classic: Crème de Violette adds gentle floral depth to the traditional mojito.
  • Fresh and vibrant: Mint and lime keep the drink crisp, cooling, and refreshing.
  • Eye-catching colour: Soft violet tones make this mojito stand out from the crowd.
  • Light and balanced: Floral notes complement, rather than overpower, the citrus and rum.
  • Perfect for warm weather: Ideal for summer gatherings, patios, and casual entertaining.

What Is Crème de Violette?

This mojito is made with Crème de Violette. It is a sweet, floral, and distinctly violet-flavoured liqueur with a beautiful deep purple colour. Some people also find notes of honey, elderflower, lavender, and a hint of lemon.

Ultra smooth and velvety, this liquor has a long-lasting floral-toward aroma making it perfect for sipping. You can enjoy it on the rocks as a dessert, or after-dinner drink. (If you enjoy sweet drinks.) Or, you can use use for exciting cocktails!

Violet Mojito Cocktail

This fun twist on a classic cocktail requires the following ingredients:

  • Rum works as the base spirit in this recipe. You will need light, white rum for this recipe. Dark or spiced rum will not work as it will overpower the violet aroma. If you don’t like or have rum, vodka or gin should work just fine; if going with gin, try picking a more neutral, less juniper-forward flavour.
  • Crème de Violette works as both a modifier and sweetener. This is a liqueur with a strong, distinct violet flavour often described as having a perfumed aftertaste. And since this liqueur is very sweet, you don’t need any additional sweetener.
  • Limes – juice and wedges for garnishing.
  • Fresh mint leaves. Ideally, choose the variety with a delicate, subtle aroma.
  • Ice
  • Sparkling water or club soda – optionally, for topping. I normally don’t add it and enjoy a mojito with plenty of ice instead.
