This Lavender Orange Gin Cocktail is delicately sweet, relatively mild, and delectable. Perfect cocktails for botanical flavours lovers!
Jump to RecipeHello everyone – I hope you are ready for Friday? Even though, it was a short week for me (Thanks to the extended weekends), I am ready. Oh boy, I am so ready! Definitely, that’s a good reason for a little celebration. And this Lavender Orange Gin Cocktail perfectly fits the bill, I think.
As many of you noticed, I’ve been sharing many summer cocktail ideas this season. Many of them have been with a botanical hint such as lilacs, rose, and lavender. Indeed, I’ve already posted three lavender ideas you might also like. Check them out please!

Lavender Martini Vermouth Cocktail
Lavender Orange Gin Cocktail
As you can imagine, these ideas are quite similar yet different. For instance, this Lavender Orange Gin Cocktail is bolder and stronger but still delicately sweet and delightful. If you love lavender, which nicely pairs with gin, this is your kind of cocktail. Of course, as always, you can adjust the idea to your liking. My husband, for instance, discard most of the ice and ads more gin as he prefers stronger cocktails (And as he says, to “Hide the lavender flavour” lol.) Also, if you don’t have orange liquor on hands, you can simply use orange juice instead. But of course the liquor adds something extra special!
Also, this is my last summer cocktail ideas as I will sharing some seasonal flavours soon. I am talking about lavender. Just kidding – of course, about apples.
So, I hope you like this refreshing cocktail, and you will it a try soon. If you make it, let me know in this post or send me an Instagram message or share you photos adding the hashtag #havocinthekitchen.
Cheers!
Lavender Orange Gin Cocktail

minutesThis Lavender Orange Gin Cocktail is delicately sweet, relatively mild, and delectable. Perfect cocktails for botanical flavours lovers!
Ingredients
1 to 1,5 oz. of gin
1 oz. of orange liquor (such as Cointreau)
about 1/2 oz. of lavender syrup
crushed ice
sparkling or regular water, optional and as desired
fresh mint and orange zest, optional (for garnish)
Directions
- In a shaker, combine the lavender syrup, gin, orange liquor (or juice), and ice. Shake about 30 seconds to combine. Try and adjust to your liking by adding more of gin, orange liquor, or syrup. Garnish with mint and orange zest if desired and serve right away. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can use orange juice instead of orange liquor. In this case, you won’t need diluting the cocktail with extra water
Hi – I’m Ben, a blogger, recipe developer, and food photographer. I’m glad you’re here! I hope you will enjoy hundreds of delicious recipes and a pinch of havoc in the kitchen.
Ben I love a gin cocktail and with lavendar, sounds amazing. Also your photos are beautiful. With summer coming on here, this will be perfect. Best wishes, Pauline
I’m imagining gin and lavender being a perfect combination of flavours. This is such a special cocktail.
I always get my Lynne to check out your cocktails Ben whenever you upload a new recipe. She’s the one in our house that loves and makes a good cocktail. She’ll love this as its gin based with a unique twist of lavender in it. I’ll love it too if I can get her to make it! Ha ha! Delicious!

Haha – Andrey’s comment about hiding the lavender flavor made me laugh! :-) And here’s yet another fabulous summer cocktail…you’ve been doing such a good job with these lately! I like the twist using freshly squeezed orange here. It’s 5:00 somewhere, right?? :-)

Hehe I knew that!
When I still drank cocktails, the gin based ones were always my favourite. This looks so beautiful and tempting, Ben.

This is such a beautiful and unique cocktail! I imagine the lavender must be heaven with the gin and cointreau and so refreshing along with the seltzer. Definitely going to try this when we have the ingredients!
Thank you Catherine!
