Lavender Limoncello Martini combines the sweetness of Limoncello and a pleasant botanical hint coming from lavender syrup. Mixed with gin or white rum and lemon juice, this is a lovely summer drink, which perfectly combines sweetness and freshness.
Jump to RecipeHello folks – how are you doing? I hope you all had a nice weekend, and you are ready to embrace new week. Well, I know it’s Monday, but I am posting a cocktail recipe. Because why not, right?!
I continue posting recipes I prepared last summer (still a few dozens of unpublished recipes are left LOL) And last year I was experimenting a lot with Limoncello; hopefully, I could share more ideas this summer.
In my book, Limoncello is a liquor perfect for winter because it is quite sweet. However, when paired with right components, it can be quite refreshing and not overly sweet, making it suitable for hot summer days.
Lavender Limoncello Martini
And while the combination of Limoncello and lavender syrup sounds too sweet, the flavour of this cocktail is nicely balanced.
Besides Limoncello and lavender syrup, you will need dry gin or white rum and fresh lemon juice. We tried it with both gin and rum – both options are great – but gin adds more complexity (and also goes so well with floral notes.) If you prefer vodka, then you can use it, too.

Cooking time does not include making lavender syrup.
Ingredients
1 and 1/2 oz. dry gin (or white rum)
1 oz. Limoncello
1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
1/2 – 2/3 oz. lavender syrup
ice cubes
lavender sprigs and lemon wedges, for garnish (optional)
Directions
- In the shaker, combine the gin, Limoncello, lavender syrup (start with 1/2 oz.), lemon juice, and ice and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds. Okay, I am not a fan of martinis but you have to admit that this is so much more than a martini. I really think I would love it!
It’s great to see you exploring different ways to enjoy Limoncello, especially when paired with the vibrant flavors of summer. Cheers to trying new cocktails and embracing the season!
What a cool looking drink with the lavender in there! I would definitely go for gin here. And this is perfect timing as our neighbors just brought us back a bottle of limoncello from Italy!

What a lovely summer drink and the colour is beautiful. I would even say Vodka would be a good alternative if you don’t like the harsh botanicals of gin. Maverick’s Ginslinger Gin would be even better because it does not have the harsh juniper flavours of traditional gin but it is has some fruity botanical flavours, AND it’s distilled very close to Toronto. We got onto it when the LCBO when on strike and closed all of their stores for two weeks!

Yes, vodka for those who love mild flavour would be great. And of course, you can play around with different varieties of gin. I also prefer mild gin with fruity / light floral flavours :)
