If you like gin and floral aroma, then you should try this Lavender Empress 1908 Gin Cocktail. It’s fresh, relatively light (but not too much), and moderately sweet. Perfect summer cocktail to enjoy late afternoon on your weekend!

Hello everyone – happy Friday! Yay!
It’s almost end of August, with just three full weeks or so summer left. And as always, Ben gets a bit anxious. Why? No – not because of approaching fall. Early fall is perhaps my favourite season. The reason is I’ve got SO MANY summer recipes to share, but just a bunch of days left.
When in Doubt, Share a Cocktail!
And I am not exaggerating. I have had over 40 new recipes I’ve made and photographed this summer (Out of control, right?! But most of them are cocktails that didn’t require any cooking) Besides, I’ve got a few dozens from last year. Yeah, I was able to share a few recipes from 2020. And I will do the same next year with photos taken in 2022. But truth be told, most images taken this summer most likely will never be posted. Many reasons. Next summer I will be inspired with other ideas and recipes. Also, it is normal that a photographer stops liking some (most) of their works after a certain amount of time. And so on.
That’s the reason I am a bit anxious! So many choices – so few opportunities to share. Cocktails (so many!), salads, dips, crepes (so many!)… How can anyone choose, right?!
Oh well, when in doubt, share another cocktail :) What about this lovely Lavender Empress Gin Cocktail?

Lavender Empress 1908 Cocktail
This Lavender Empress 1908 Cocktail is so easy to make with just a few components. You will need Empress 1908 Indigo Gin (If it’s not available, you can use any other. The colour would be different.) Also, you will need simple lavender syrup and lemon juice. Easy!
And, of course, as always, you can adjust the proportion to your preferences by using more or less of gin, syrup, or lemon juice.
I hope you like this cocktail, and you will give it a try soon. If you make it, let me know in this post or send me an Instagram message or share you photos adding the hashtag #havocinthekitchen.
Cheers to the weekend!

Hi – I’m Ben, a blogger, recipe developer, and food photographer. I’m glad you’re here! I hope you will enjoy hundreds of delicious recipes and a pinch of havoc in the kitchen.
Wow, I’ve never considered lavender as an aroma for cocktails before! I must confess I’m not anything near an expert, or even remotely knowledgeable about cocktails, but I love lavender, and was pleasantly surprised to see it used in a cocktail!
I was just reading about the anti-stress/anxiety properties of lavender. And now I can enjoy those benefits in cocktail form. That’s what I call a win-win!
Lynne (my other half) is the one in the family for cocktails and especially ones with gin in. I’ve passed this over to her to look at making for us. Thanks Ben!

This looks stunning! Bet that lavender syrup would be fantastic over some homemade pancakes.
