Hey folks! Fruit-forward cocktails are always a great way to add colour and freshness to a drink. Despite the minimal effort, the result looks beautiful in the glass and works wonderfully as a light summer drink. So let’s take a look at this Blueberry Lime Martini Cocktail.

Why You’ll Love This Blueberry Lime Martini Cocktail

  • Bright berry flavour: Fresh blueberries provide natural sweetness and a vibrant fruit profile.
  • Balanced citrus: Lime juice adds brightness and keeps the cocktail refreshing.
  • Elegant and light: Dry vermouth creates a smooth and refined base.

Flavour Profile

This cocktail is fruity, lightly sweet, and pleasantly refreshing. Blueberries bring natural sweetness and colour, while lime adds acidity that balances the drink. Because the berries are blended rather than muddled, the cocktail also develops a slightly thicker texture, making it feel closer to a berry-forward martini or light daiquiri-style drink.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (35 g.) fresh blueberries (can substitute blackberries or raspberries)

  • juice of 1/2 lime or to taste

  • 1 tbsp. (15 ml.) maple syrup or to taste

  • 2 oz. (60 ml.) extra dry martini vermouth

  • 1 oz. (30 ml.) gin or white rum

  • 1/2 cup ice, crushed

  • mint, lime, and extra blueberries, for garnish

Directions

  • Using a blender, blend the blueberries, lime juice, and maple syrup until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity if needed.
  • Add the blueberry puree, vermouth, gin (or rum), and crushed ice to a shaker. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass or serve over ice and garnish as desired.

Notes

  • This ratio yields in a light, sweet, almost a dessert-like cocktail. You can mix 1/2 of the blueberry pure with other ingredients first, and then add the remaining, if desired. You can also add a splash of another hard liquor like gin, for a stronger version.
