Hello folks – how are you doing? Did you have a nice weekend, and you are now ready to tackle this new week?
If you know me a bit, you are probably aware of my love for lavender. And if you are still skeptical about this herb, I encourage you to start using it. It is weather you like it or hate it, and you will need to experiment with it first to make sure what category you belong to.

Naturally, you can utilize lavender in many sweet recipes, as well as drinks.

In the book “Cooking with Lavender” by Nancy Baggett, I found a useful chapter on lavender pairings. While some of the ingredients from that list were not surprising to me, many flavours in fact were. For instance, I never would have thought of pairing lavender with cheeses, watermelons, pasta, tomatoes, legumes, and many more.
Sun-Dried Tomato Lavender Spread
This Sun-Dried Tomato Lavender Spread was inspired by the above-mentioned book; there is a recipe for fresh tomatoes and lavender topping for bruschetta (or dip.) Here I have my own spin. The combination of cream cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and smoky notes turned out to be so good. And it’s super quick and easy to make it. You should try! :)
I hope you like this Sun-Dried Tomato Lavender Spread, and you will give it a try soon! If you make it, let me know in this post or send me an Instagram message or share you photos adding the hashtag #havocinthekitchen.
Cheers!

Ooh – the smoky paprika and chipotle plus lavender? That is a really unusual and exciting combination. I just used all my cream cheese to make a salmon and chipotle spread. Wish I had come here earlier – might have added a touch of lavender!

That bowl that you have the spread in is as gorgeous as the spread! I love sun-dried tomatoes. They need to make a come-back. It sounds like it’d be good on a sandwich, too.
So beautiful!!! This would be a fabulous addition to a charcuterie tray!
What an inspirational spread! You are so creative Ben!

I wouldn’t have thought about pairing lavender with tomatoes, either. But adding a smoky element is always a good idea in my book! This sounds like a fun summer appetizer idea for entertaining friends. The lavender king strikes again!

Very interesting combination of flavors in this spread.
Another combination that I have yet to try. The spread looks great with that light champagne colour.
