Hey, folks – if you enjoy fruity gin cocktails with a subtle floral twist, this one is a real standout. It’s light, refreshing, and incredibly easy to adjust depending on how bold or delicate you want the rose notes to be. So, let’s dive into this Raspberry Rose Gin Cocktail.

Why You’ll Love This Raspberry Rose Gin Cocktail

  • Raspberry-forward flavour: Fresh raspberries and raspberry liqueur lead the drink, with rose playing a supporting role.
  • Lightly floral, not perfumed: The rose syrup adds elegance without overpowering the fruit.
  • Refreshing and summery: Bright lemon juice and optional tonic keep the cocktail crisp and easy to sip.
  • Visually striking: Natural raspberry tones paired with rose hues make this cocktail especially eye-catching.
  • Highly customizable: Adjust sweetness, citrus, or dilution to suit your taste and occasion.

Flavour Profile

This cocktail is juicy, bright, and gently floral. Raspberry leads with sweet-tart freshness, followed by crisp lemon and smooth botanical gin. The rose syrup adds a soft aromatic finish rather than a dominant floral punch, while optional tonic lightens the texture and keeps the drink refreshing rather than syrupy.

Ingredients You’ll Need for This Raspberry Rose Gin Cocktail

To make this Raspberry Rose Gin Cocktail, you’ll need a handful of simple ingredients that come together quickly and beautifully.

  • Gin: Use a clean, botanical gin that won’t overpower the fruit. Empress 1908 works well, but any balanced gin is suitable.
  • Raspberry liqueur: Chambord adds rich berry depth and natural sweetness. Any other variety will work.
  • Rose syrup: Just enough to bring soft floral notes without dominating the drink.
  • Fresh raspberries: Lightly smashed to enhance aroma and natural fruit flavour.
  • Lemon juice: Freshly squeezed for brightness and balance.
  • Ice cubes: Essential for chilling and dilution.
  • Tonic or sparkling water (optional): A splash adds lift and extra refreshment.
  • Garnishes: Fresh raspberries, mint, and lemon slices for colour and aroma.

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 and 1/2 oz. (30-45 ml) gin of your choice (I used Empress 1908 gin)

  • 1 oz. (30 ml) raspberry liquor (I used Chambord)

  • 1/2 to 1 oz. (15-30 ml) simple rose syrup (*See notes)

  • 1/2 to 1 oz. (15-30 ml) lemon juice

  • few fresh raspberries, smashed

  • fresh mint, raspberries, and lemon slices, for garnish

  • a little of tonic or sparkling water, optional – to top, if desired

  • ice cubes

Directions

  • Add the gin, raspberry liqueur, rose syrup, lemon juice, smashed raspberries, and ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds, until well chilled. Taste and adjust the balance as needed, adding more gin, syrup, or lemon juice to suit your preference.
  • Strain into a serving glass, or pour over ice if serving on the rocks. When serving over ice, no tonic or sparkling water is needed. If serving without ice and the cocktail tastes too strong, top with a small splash of tonic or sparkling water to soften the intensity. Garnish with fresh raspberries, lemon slices, and mint, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • If you don’t have rose syrup, you can make and use simple syrup infused with some rose water.
