Lavender Mojito

Hello everyone – happy Saturday! Normally, I don’t post on weekends. But since this week I’ve been spending too much time (And apparently throwing too many tantrums lol) because of technical issues, I decided to have another delightful recipe.

It’s already September, and all of a sudden, I started feeling fall vibes. I mean one day it was super hot and humid, and now it’s so refreshing. Indeed, I love this time of the year, but it was just such a rapid change.

But even though the days (and particularly nights) are getting fresher, there’s still a room for some refreshments. Besides, I am not moving to anything apple, pumpkin, anyways, so you’re kind of stuck with me guys for another few weeks :)

Lavender Mojito

Also, it’s Labour Day and the extended weekend, and I bet many of you will have a party or picnic. I know for many people it’s the weekend they are wrapping up their grilling season. Now, I am checking our forecast for the entire weekend, and I assume David is going to use his grill a lot lol.

Jokes apart, I believe this Lavender Mojito would be a perfect drink to celebrate Labour Day (and calendar fall, too.) It’s super refreshing, subtly herbal, and deliciously sweet. Just keep in mind you will need to make this Lavender Simple Syrup first.

And you can also check other fancy cocktails for your party.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. (60 ml.) white rum

  • 1/2 oz. (15 ml.) lavender simple syrup or more, to taste

  • 1 oz. (30 ml.) lime juice

  • 10 large mint leaves

  • sparkling water or club soda, if desired

  • ice cubes

Directions

  • Muddle together the mint leaves and lavender syrup in a shaker.
  • Add the rum and stir with a long handle spoon. Try and adjust the sweetness and flavour, by adding more lavender syrup, lime juice or rum, if necessary.
  • Fill your glass with ice and pour the gin mixture. Top your glass with club soda or sparkling water if / as desired. Garnish with lime wheels and mint and enjoy right away!

Notes

  • This drink is totally customizable. Play with the amount of rum, lime juice, and lavender syrup. Adding the sparkling water is optional, you can enjoy this cocktail as it is (Add more ice), but of course it will be stronger.

  1. True to form you’ve created another stunning and refreshing cocktail and I really am a mojito lover. Can’t wait to try this one.

  2. Your photos are really and truly extraordinary! I just stopped by for the view. I’m one of those old weirdos who don’t like flowers in stuff other than my garden, and my vases. I have tried a botanical gin – G’Vine – that I liked, but just one gin and tonic and that was enough for me. I wish I liked lavender ice cream, but I can think of hundreds of flavors I’d choose before that. But your photos are sensational!!!

You come up with such clever recipes, Ben! This mojito is beautiful and sounds absolutely wonderful!

  4. Haha – you guessed correctly, Ben! I had the grill going almost every day this past weekend. The only day I didn’t turn it on was because I had the smoker going instead. :-) (It was the first time this year we’d made ribs.) I love the color of this cocktail! And the herbal tones would be quite nice in a drink. You know I don’t often go to lavender in foods, but in drinks I could see this working quite well! Cheers!

  5. What an amazing colour! I bet it’s very tasty too. You are absolutely creative with all the edible flowers, Ben.

  6. I love the original and I like the scent of lavender so… this is definitely a winner in my book. And what a lovely color.

  7. I love the gorgous color! I hope your having a great holiday weekend, punctuated by a few of these lovely cocktails!
