Jump to RecipeHappy Friday!
Hello everyone – happy Friday! Also, this is the first day of October. This needs to be celebrated with something utterly delicious. What about this Apple Cider Rum Cocktail then?
Since it’s Friday night, I am going to keep it super short and sweet. We shouldn’t waste any time. After all, this tasty cocktail won’t drink itself :)
Apple Cider Rum Cocktail
I know autumn days require something cozy and soul-warming, as well as stronger spirits. Buttered rum or buttered apple cider, for instance. But many of us can still enjoy lovely and relatively warm days in October. That’s when this Apple Cider Rum Cocktail would be a great option (As well as this Rose Infused Apple Cider.)
This cocktails is super easy to make, and it requires only four main ingredients:
What Do You Need To Make It?
Apple cider. I would recommend using aromatic, tart, and crisp apple cider such as heritage ciders. But something light and sweet like honey crisp apple cider would do (Just keep in mind the cocktails will be sweeter.)
Rum. Use white rum of your choice. There’s no need to use expensive one.
Maple syrup. Adds a nice sweetness.
Lemon juice. Balances out the sweetness. If your cider is quite tart, you can skip it.
Optional: apple slices and mint, for garnish.
Of course, you can adjust the ratio and make it stronger or lighter. Either way, it will be delightful!
I hope you like this cocktail, and you will it a try soon. If you make it, let me know in this post or send me an Instagram message or share you photos adding the hashtag #havocinthekitchen.
Happy weekend. Cheers!

Thank you Tasia!
This is a nice drink not just to end the week but better yet to end the day. Its getting warner now here too so a daily afternoon sip is truly welcomed
Thanks Raymund!
How convenient Ben. Lynne and I recently visited a fruit winery here in Scotland and bought some excellent sweet apple cider. That would be just perfect for making this. It sounds delicious! Perfect for this time of year as you say!

Thanks Neil!
And if it’s too fresh, this cocktail can be turned into a mulled warm version, I think! :)
Loved it. Perfect for a party!
Thank you!
This is right up my alley, Ben – I love how you included maple syrup in the drink! This is the perfect cocktail for a chilly fall day. I wonder if I could use bourbon instead of rum, though? I think I should try this and find out! :-)

Thank you David! Bourbon would absolutely work (I guess it would be even a more soul-warming version)
I love that tall glass with the small bottom. And I love the sound of these ingredients! Apple is one of my favorite things, as is maple syrup. I’m not always a rum fan, but sometimes it blends perfectly with other flavors, and I have a feeling that this is one of those times.
Thank you Jeff!
A wonderful Fall drink! I always love your presentation and food styling, Ben.
