Hello everyone – I hope you are doing well.
I know this is only Tuesday, but I cannot wait to share this luscious cocktail with you. After all, I am not asking you to enjoy it right away. You can keep it for your Friday night or weekend :)
Last year I was into cocktail recipes. 20 ideas – that’s a lot! Indeed, I made this Maple Rum Cocktail also last autumn, but I just did not have a chance to share it earlier. So please disregard the autumn pictures because this cocktail would be perfect both in fall and spring. Who am I kidding? It would be perfect all year round. Well, probably not that much in summer as it might be quite sweet and not refreshing enough for the hot time of the year.
Maple Rum Cocktail
It is no secret that I love moderately sweet and light (aka dessert) cocktails. If you are like me, you would totally love this Maple Rum Cocktail. Yes, it is relatively sweet, but rum balances out the sweetness well. And the addition of lemon makes the flavour more elegant and fresh. Of course, you can play with this idea to adjust to your liking. I am positive you can use pretty much any hard spirit besides rum. By the way, I used dark spiced rum for an extra added flavour.
I would also suggest you adjusting the amount of maple serving. Start with 1/2 of the recommended amount and then add more, if desired. The same applies to lemon juice. The more, the better, in my book.
Well, I hope you like this cocktail, and you will celebrate the maple syrup season with enjoying a drink or two. If you make it, let me know in this post or send me an Instagram message or share you photos adding the hashtag #havocinthekitchen.
And don’t forget to check so many other cocktail ideas!
Cheers!

Hi – I’m Ben, a blogger, recipe developer, and food photographer. I’m glad you’re here! I hope you will enjoy hundreds of delicious recipes and a pinch of havoc in the kitchen.
This is delicious. I go a little heavier lemon and a little less maple, then garnish with Thai basil or mint.
Delicious flavor combination to sip on while we watch the games. Love that you filled it to the rim! Cheers, Ben!
