Rosé Sangria Recipe

Hello folks! How are you doing? Are you enjoying this summer so far? (And on a side note, can anyone believe that is is almost the end of July? Shocking, right?) Our July has been quite hot and muggy this season – not my kind of pleasant weather, to be honest. On the other hand, it is a legit excuse to enjoy a refreshing cocktail (or two).

And while alcoholic beverages may not be a good idea during hot time for many people (particularly with some health concerns and conditions like heart), a sangria is a better option due to a lower alcohol content.

Rosé Sangria Recipe

This Rosé Sangria recipe is so tasty and refreshing, with a complex fruity and floral profile.

To make it, you will need rosé wine, triple sec (or any other orange liquor), and fresh berries like strawberries and raspberries. It is also infused with some rose syrup and fresh mint. Lemon or lime juice are optional, but they add some extra freshness, as well as balance out the sweetness. While triple sec is a traditional addition to a sangria, you may go with something different. Think of raspberry, apricot, peach, or black currant liquor, but the options are endless.

Also, while this recipe calls for rose syrup, you can use a little of rose water (not rose essence!) instead. And you can completely skip it, too, if you are not a fan of rose infused recipes.

When planning this recipe, please remember you should chill the sangria for at least 30 minutes or longer. I will not recommend making this version way too in advance, as the fruit will start getting mushy after two hours or so. And don’t forget to fill your glass with some ice cubes to make this experience even more enjoyable!

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750 ml.) rosé, chilled (dry recommended)

  • 1/3 cup (80 ml.) orange liquor like triple sec or Cointreau

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml.) rose syrup

  • 1 cup (125 gr.) fresh raspberries

  • 1 cup (160 gr.) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

  • 1-2 tbsp. lime or lemon juice, optional

  • few mint sprigs

  • ice cubes, for serving

Directions

  • Make sure to make rose syrup in advance. If you do not have fresh rose petals, you can make simple sugar syrup infused with some (1/2 to 1 tsp.) of rose water (not essence).
  • Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and stir to combine. Lemon or lime juice is optional, but it will also balance out the sweetness of sangria.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or longer. I will not recommend going beyond 2-3 hours as the fruit will start loosing their nice texture and start turning mushy. Try again and adjust the flavours – perhaps, more of the rose syrup, lemon juice, or even orange liquor.
  • Serve over ice and garnished as desired. Enjoy!

Cheers!
