Hey folks! Lilac season always inspires me to experiment with floral cocktails, and this recipe is a little different from the others on the blog. Instead of focusing only on floral notes, this drink combines lilac syrup with fresh raspberries for a colourful and refreshing cocktail. It’s quick to prepare, visually beautiful, and perfect for warm spring or summer evenings. So, let’s dive into this Raspberry Lilac Martini.

Why You’ll Love This Raspberry Lilac Martini

  • Fresh and vibrant: Fresh raspberries give the cocktail natural fruit flavour and a beautiful colour.
  • Light floral aroma: Lilac syrup adds a gentle floral note that complements the berries.
  • Elegant yet simple: Despite its sophisticated appearance, the drink takes only minutes to prepare.
  • Perfect seasonal cocktail: Raspberries and lilacs create a refreshing spring and summer combination.

Flavour Profile

This cocktail is bright, fruity, and refreshing. Raspberries provide the dominant flavour, while lilac syrup contributes a gentle floral aroma in the background. Citrus adds brightness, and the vermouth introduces a subtle herbal complexity that keeps the drink balanced rather than overly sweet.

Ingredients You’ll Need for This Raspberry Lilac Martini

To make this cocktail, you only need a few ingredients that work beautifully together.

  • Fresh raspberries: These provide the main flavour and vibrant colour of the cocktail.
  • Lilac syrup: Adds the delicate floral aroma that pairs wonderfully with raspberries.
  • Dry vermouth: Martini Extra Dry vermouth brings subtle herbal complexity and balance.
  • Light rum: A small amount of rum adds body and smoothness to the drink.
  • Lime juice: Fresh lime juice brightens the cocktail and balances sweetness.
  • Crushed ice: Helps chill the drink and creates a refreshing texture.
  • Mint and lime wedges (optional): These simple garnishes add freshness and visual appeal.

Possible Additions and Variations

  • Sweeter cocktail: Add a little more lilac syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink.
  • More citrus brightness: Increase the lime juice slightly for a sharper flavour.
  • Stronger rum profile: Add a bit more rum if you prefer a more spirit-forward cocktail.
  • Frozen variation: Blend the ingredients with ice for a slushy frozen cocktail.
