This luscious No Bake Blood Orange Dessert combines a silky and rich cream cheese-white chocolate base, salted pistachios, aromatic thyme, and a healthy amount of bourbon.
Hello everyone! I hope you’re doing well. Did you celebrate St. Valentine’s Day, by any chance? We didn’t really; however, it didn’t stop us from eating something delicious. It never stops us, to be honest :)
While I didn’t share any special recipe for St. Valentines last week, except for this Blood Orange Scallop Salad, this No Bake Blood Orange Dessert could have easily been that dessert for sure. Please stay tuned as I will be sharing another lovely idea for a dessert in a glass soon.
No Bake Blood Orange Dessert
This is a truly luscious, easy to make and elegant dessert. It consists of two element – cream cheese and white chocolate base and blood orange sauce. Basically, this is a no bake cheesecake in a glass! Who doesn’t want some cheesecake?
- The combination of cream cheese, cream, and white chocolate. It’s smooth, silky, and pleasantly (not overly) sweet.
- An easy blood orange sauce with a touch of honey and thyme. Blood oranges introduce that famous refreshing and lightly tart flavour. However, if they’re not available, you can use any other kind of oranges. Cara cara oranges would be great.
- A hearty amount of bourbon. I used 1/4 cup of it, and that was a lot, in a good way. Feel free to adjust the amount.
- Finally, salted pistachios, for the added texture.
The serving is relatively small; however, it’s enough to enjoy! Since the cream cheese base is rather rich and decadent, it’s filling. However, who would judge you if have two glasses at once? I won’t! After all, all four servings haven’t disappeared themselves :)
I hope you like this No Bake Blood Orange Dessert, and you’ll give it a try soon.
Cheers.
Delicious. I’m not sure that I’ve eaten blood oranges until trying this recipe, but it worked out well. My Dinner companions enjoyed it and it’s simple to make. I didn’t have pistachios so substituted roasted slivered almonds.
Thank you, Michael – I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it. And roasted almonds sounds like a great substitute. Cheers!
I ADORE blood oranges so needless to say I can barely wait for them to be back in season here so I can try this. Love the boozy element too and your photos are truly stunning.
These desserts are so beautiful! Love blood oranges — they’re always so fleeting! I’d definitely have 2 servings in one sitting! :D
Love the colour of blood oranges! And presenting this dessert in a glass is so elegant. Definitely a nice dessert option for an at-home date night!
You had me at No-Bake but all got even better from there. Love winter citrus and blended with cream cheese and white chocolate sounds absolutely divine. And that healthy splash of bourbon with the crunch of pistachios puts this delicious dessert over the top!
What a fun way to serve dessert! I like to serve tiramisu in martini glasses for a fun visual angle, but now I want to serve no-bake desserts in wine glasses. And the color of this is fantastic! I can see how it disappeared magically. :-)
Wow, this is almost like an art. Love that intensive color, how lovely! I love how you present the dessert in the wine glass, too. You are so artistic! I love the taste of blood orange and this seems the best way to enjoy in a form of dessert.
Blood oranges provide such a rich, gorgeous color! I love everything about this luscious dessert!!
