This Christmas Sangria made with Rose wine, Cointreau, cranberries, honey, and rosemary is a festive, light and, refreshing cocktail for the holiday season.
Jump to RecipeHello everyone – I hope you are doing well. So am I, thanks for asking.
Can anyone believe Christmas just two weeks away? Holy cow! Nope, I am not worried about Christmas shopping (Who cares!) As a food blogger, I have a more serious problem to deal with. I have more that 15 (Yes, I’ve been very productive this season) unpublished recipes. And only 2 weeks. Well, three as I always sneak a few more recipes before New Year’s Eve. Even if math is not your strong suit, you can definitely see here the problem.
On top of this, I am not stopping, and I still plan on making and photographing a couple recipes more. Yeah, Ben does not look for easy ways LOL.
That means that unfortunately I won’t be able to share all recipes I’ve prepared this year (Maybe next Christmas!) But I am going to sneak – or try doing so – as many recipes as I could. Thus I have a legit excuse to keep it short and sweet today.
Christmas Sangria
Do you love sangria, guys? If yes, you should check this version. It’s smooth, light, fresh, and so luscious. I used rosé because I love it’s delicate and light aroma. But if you prefer something bolder, you can swap for your favourite red wine. Also, white wine would be equally delicious. This sangria is infused with cranberries, Cointreau, oranges, honey, and rosemary. The last one is optional, of course.
This Christmas Sangria is super easy to make, but keep in mind you should make it in advance to allow to infuse and mingle the flavours.

Christmas Sangria

hoursThis Christmas Sangria made with Rose wine, Cointreau, cranberries, honey, and rosemary is a festive, light and, refreshing cocktail for the holiday season.
Ingredients
2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
3 and 1/2 cup rosé wine of your choice, divided
1/4 cup Cointreau or other Triple sec
2-3 tbsp. honey
juice of 1 orange
1 small rosemary sprig
fresh cranberries (optional)
Directions
- In a small saucepan combine 1/2 cup of wine with cranberries. Bring to a boil then simmer for about 5-7 minutes until soft and juices have been released. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for about 30 minutes.
- Using a fine sieve mesh, mash the cranberries releasing as much of the juices as possible then discard the cranberries. (You don’t need to follow this step. Add the entire mixture to the sangria and filter, if desired, just before serving.) Alternatively, you can use good quality cranberry sauce; so in this case just skip this step.
- In a large pitcher, combine the wine, Cointreau, cranberry juice (made in the previous step), orange juice, honey, and rosemary. Optionally add in some (~1/2 cup or so) fresh cranberries. Stir to combine. Try and adjust the taste by adding more wine (Cointreau, orange liquor, or honey). Chill in the fridge for 2-4 hours or until ready to serve. You can serve it immediately over crushed ice, but chilling is strongly recommended.
- Garnish as desired and serve. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can use white or red wine of your choice in place of rosé.
- You can use cranberry juice instead of making cranberry base.

A holiday sangria? What a wonderful idea. And it sounds delicious, too. I’m a huge fan of cranberries and always looking for new ways to enjoy them. Bonus points if it involves alcohol. :-)
Thank you, Frank!
I just bought two sparkling rosés yesterday and I’m making this! I prefer a sparkling sangria in any case. Can’t wait! Thanks!
Thank you, Mimi!
If I still drank, this would be the one on my list to make for the holidays! So festive, pretty and tasty.
