This smoothie fits the bill perfectly: bright, refreshing, and balanced with enough protein to keep you feeling satisfied. So, let’s dive into this Clementine Banana Smoothie with Greek Yogurt.

Why You’ll Love This Clementine Banana Smoothie

  • Fresh and uplifting: Clementines add natural sweetness and gentle citrus notes.
  • Creamy yet light: Greek yogurt creates a smooth texture without heaviness.
  • Naturally filling: A simple balance of fruit and protein.
  • Quick to make: Comes together in just a few minutes.

Flavour and Texture Profile

This smoothie is smooth and creamy with a light citrus tang from the clementines. The banana provides body and natural sweetness, while Greek yogurt adds a subtle tang that keeps the flavour fresh rather than dessert-like.

Additions and Variations

Although this citrus banana smoothie is already delicious, you can always make it even better by customizing to your liking:

  • Protein boost: Add a scoop of plain or vanilla protein powder.
  • Dairy-free option: Use a thick plant-based yogurt instead of Greek yogurt.
  • Extra citrus: Add a little grated clementine zest for brighter flavour.
  • Sweeter version: A drizzle of honey or maple syrup works well if needed.
  • Colder smoothie: Use frozen banana slices or add a handful of ice.
  • Spiced twist: A pinch of ground ginger or cinnamon adds warmth.

How to Make Clementine Banana Smoothie

To make this clementine banana smoothie, add the Greek yogurt, bananas, peeled clementines, and clementine jam (if using) to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy, adding a small splash of water as needed to reach your preferred consistency. Taste and adjust if needed, then pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 ml) Greek yogurt

  • 2 ripe bananas

  • 4–6 small to medium clementines, peeled – See Notes

  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) clementine or orange jam (optional)

  • Water or milk, as needed

Directions

  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Add water or milk if needed to adjust the consistency. Enjoy right away.

Notes

  • I used whole peeled clementines in this smoothie for added fibre and body. If your clementines have very thick skins or lots of seeds, you can simply use freshly squeezed clementine juice instead.

  1. I love that you used clementines in this smoothie, Ben. We always keep a bag around in the winter as they are easy snacks, but I’ve never used them in smoothie form. I’m thinking breakfast next week! Happy New Year to you and Andrew!

  2. What a beautiful looking smoothie- I love the color and the sweetness from the banana with the clementine flavor sounds divine. I like smoothies and often use banana as my base but never thought to use a citrus fruit such as clementines. I’ll have to give this a try. Thanks.

  3. This smoothie sounds wonderfully bright and refreshing, Ben, the mix of ripe bananas, juicy clementines, and Greek yogurt gives it that perfect balance of creamy and citrusy. It feels like exactly the kind of lighter, energizing breakfast that hits the spot after the holidays.
