Ingredients You Will Need for This Cherry Lemon Amaretto Cocktail
- Amaretto – a liqueur known for its sweet and distinctive nutty, almond flavour. Traditionally, this is not an almond spirit, though. Its signature nutty flavour comes from the essence of apricot kernels. Nowadays, you can also find liquor made with almond kernels, too. Amaretto works as the base spirit in this recipe.
- Cherry liqueur – works as a modifier and sweetener. I used a relatively light product (i.e., 18% proof), but generally, any spirit will work.
- Limoncello – also works as both a modifier and sweetener. It also makes the flavour profile more complex.
- Fresh lemon juice – a modifier that adds more flavour and balances out the sweetness.
- Ice cubes – for chilling. And you can also serve this cocktail on rocks if you prefer a lighter version.
- Fresh cherries, lemon zest, and mint – optional, for presentation.
