Hello everyone – happy Friday! I know it’s only Thursday. But considering it’s a holiday tomorrow here in Canada, that’s legit. By the way, to all my Canadian readers: happy Canada Day! And for my American friends, I hope you all have a wonderful the 4th of July celebration.

I also must apologize I have not shared any new cocktail recipe for the last two weeks. I know you miss them! And it would have been nice to have a new cocktail for this extended weekend. But I promise I will back but with soon.

In a meantime, I cannot stop sharing recipes with chives and chive blossoms. Previously I posted this Chive Blossom Butter, Chive Sour Cream Dip, and Egg Chive Salad. And here we go – another chive recipe, another dip.

Chive Goat Cheese Dip

Indeed, I think this dip will be so perfect for a long weekend celebrations and gatherings. The recipe only requires a few simple ingredients and 10 minutes of your time. You will need:

– Goat cheese,

– Fat sour cream,

– lemon, both zest and juice,

– Fresh chives,

– Chive blossoms (optional),

– salt and pepper.

Easy, right?

This Chive Goat Cheese Dip with sour cream, lemon, and chive blossoms is a lovely summer appetizer that you can easily enjoy as an entire light meal. Easy and so tasty!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup goat cheese (about 150-170 gr.)

  • 1/3 cup far sour cream (preferable 18%)

  • 1 tbsp. grated lemon zest

  • 1/2 – 1 tbsp. lemon juice

  • 1-2 tbsp. chopped chives

  • few chive blossoms (optional) – flower petals separated from the stem

  • black pepper and salt (optional, to taste)

Directions

  • Using an immersion or regular blender, combine the goat cheese, sour cream, lemon zest and juice, until smooth and well-combined. 
  • Try and add the salt and pepper – if desired and and to your taste. Stir in the chopped chives and chive blossoms (if using). Stir to combine. Keep the deep refrigerated for up to 3 days. Serve sprinkled with some extra lemon zest and chives and with grilled vegetables, meats or simply with bread or crackers. Enjoy!

  2. I do like to sit out on a summer day here in our garden when I can Ben, enjoying a glass of wine and some nibbles. This chive goat cheese dip is absolutely the kind of thing I like to snack on! Served with a nice Foccaccia. Yum!

  3. I love goat cheese! This is for sure my kind of dip and I would enjoy it with some crunchy pork rinds.
