These Dulce de leche French Toasts are an easy recipe for your indulgent weekend breakfast and even dessert. Dulce de leche is directly added to egg custard for a decadent experience with a hint of caramel.

Hello, folks! I hope you all have had a great weekend and that you are in the mood for the weekend now.
And if you are looking for something extra special to indulge in during the weekend, I have this recipe for French toasts for you. And not just any toasts – toasts with dulce de leche! How about that?!
Easy French Toasts with Dulce de Leche
Just like with my previous recipe for Dulce de Leche Candied Pecans, I had wanted to make French toasts with dulce de leche for a long time. And just like with the abovementioned recipe, I was skeptical thinking the result would be a messy situation. There’s a thing, though. I did not want just French toasts served with dulce de leche. That’s easy. I wanted to add dulce de leche directly into the egg custard mixture.
This recipe turned out to be successful from the very first attempt; there was no need to be worried.
But please don’t worry. Despite a generous amount of dulce de leche, these French toasts are not overly sweet at all. Their flavour is rich and creamy, with a hint of caramel that is complimented with vanilla and salt.
Ingredients for This Recipe
As the heading suggests, everything is easy!
Basically, you make a creamy egg custard and add dulce de leche. The recipes for custard vary, but I used the following ingredients: eggs, milk, table or 18% cream, salt, and vanilla. Plus, dulce de leche and butter for frying.
As for a choice of bread, go with a good quality sandwich, brioche, challah, or even cinnamon loaf. I used for this recipe Molasses bread, and it worked well.
