Strawberry Peach Salad is a refreshing summer salad that combines juicy peaches, sweet strawberries, fresh mint, and leafy greens. Light yet satisfying, this colourful dish works equally well as a simple side salad or a complete meal when topped with chicken.
Hey, folks — I hope you’re all doing well! Summer is the perfect season for fruit-based salads, and this Strawberry Peach Salad celebrates two of the best seasonal ingredients. Sweet strawberries and ripe peaches are a natural pairing, while fresh mint and greens keep everything light and refreshing. Whether you’re looking for an easy side dish for a barbecue or a healthy lunch, this salad delivers plenty of flavour with minimal effort.
Why You’ll Love This Strawberry Peach Salad
This summer fruit salad is simple, colourful, and versatile.
- Seasonal: Uses two classic summer fruits.
- Refreshing: Peaches, strawberries, and mint create a bright flavour profile.
- Versatile: Works as a side dish or light meal.
- Easy: Requires only a handful of ingredients.
- Customizable: Cheese, nuts, and chicken can all be added.
Flavour and Texture Profile
This Strawberry Peach Salad is all about balance. The strawberries provide sweetness and a slight berry tartness, while the peaches contribute juicy floral notes and a softer texture. Fresh mint brightens the entire dish, and the greens add freshness and structure.
If you choose to add chicken, the salad becomes more substantial without losing its light summer character.
Why Strawberries and Peaches Work So Well Together
Strawberries and peaches are one of summer’s most natural flavour pairings.
Both fruits are sweet and juicy, yet they contribute different characteristics. Strawberries provide brightness and slight acidity, while peaches offer floral sweetness and a tender texture.
Because they ripen during the same season, they also complement one another beautifully in summer desserts, drinks, and salads.
Ingredients You’ll Need for This Strawberry Peach Salad
This refreshing summer salad relies on just a few simple ingredients.
- Peaches: Juicy and sweet.
- Strawberries: Fresh and colourful.
- Leafy Greens: Add freshness and texture.
- Mint: Brightens the flavour profile.
- Chicken (Optional): Turns the salad into a meal.
- Nasturtium Leaves (Optional): Add a peppery flavour similar to arugula.
- Lemon or Lime Juice and Olive Oil (Optional): For a simple dressing.
Optional Additions That Work Especially Well
This Strawberry Peach Salad is intentionally simple, but there are plenty of ways to customize it.
- Goat Cheese: Tangy and creamy.
- Feta: Salty and refreshing.
- Fresh Mozzarella: Mild and delicate.
- Pecans: Add crunch and nuttiness.
- Almonds: A natural pairing with peaches.
- Walnuts: Add richness and texture.
- Avocado: Makes the salad more substantial.
These additions allow you to adapt the salad to different occasions and preferences.
Why This Salad with Strawberries and Peaches Doesn’t Need Much Dressing
One of the best things about this Strawberry Peach Salad is that the fruit does much of the work for you. Ripe peaches and strawberries naturally release some juices once sliced, creating plenty of freshness and flavour on their own.
Because of this, a substantial dressing is often unnecessary. A simple drizzle of olive oil and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice are usually enough to enhance the fruit without overwhelming it.
Some benefits of keeping the dressing minimal include:
- The fruit remains the star.
- The salad tastes lighter and fresher.
- The natural sweetness of the peaches and strawberries shines through.
- The flavours stay clean and balanced.
In fact, if your peaches and strawberries are particularly ripe and juicy, you may find that the salad needs no dressing at all. A little fresh mint is often enough to bring everything together.
How to Make Strawberry Peach Salad
Slice the peaches and strawberries and prepare the greens. If using chicken, shred or slice it into bite-sized pieces.
Combine the peaches, strawberries, greens, mint, and optional nasturtium leaves in a large bowl. Add the chicken if using.
If desired, drizzle with olive oil and lemon or lime juice. Gently toss and serve immediately. Finish with cheese or nuts if desired.

Well your timing here is perfect, Ben! We have a whole countertop full of peaches right now, and we’ve been searching for different ways to use them. I just need to grab some strawberries! Do you think I could use blueberries in this salad instead? We’re going blueberry picking tomorrow! Also, the nasturtium leaves are different – I’ve never used those in a recipe. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you David – also please ship any unwanted peaches :)
Ben, I’ve had an idea for a strawberry salad on my “recipe ideas” list for ages. I love the fact you’ve added peach to yours. I bet that adds loads of sweetness and juiciness into the flavour overall. I’m not sure if I can get nasturtium leaves but I can definitely get rocket leaves which I could substitute instead. Awesome summer recipe my friend. Thanks!
Thanks Neil!
This really is such a gorgeous summer salad! I love the combination of peaches and strawberries with the mint and greens, it must be wonderful with the citrus and olive oil. Delicious!
Thank you!
You truly create the most beautiful salads. I imagine a salty feta would go perfectly with the sweet fruits.
Thank you Marie for your kind words!
Wow! Talk about a delicious and elegant salad. This is stunning Ben! I love the addition of mint, what a great complement to the peach and strawberry here. Perfect for summer, yum!
Thank you Shannon!
I love using nasturtium in salads and I’ve just planted a new bed of them for summer use.
Thank you!
Such a light and delicious salad! I have yet to try nasturtium, but it looks so lovely!
Thanks Michelle!
We can’t get enough of sweet juicy peaches right now…this is one perfect summer salad, Ben. Nasturtium leaves are an interesting addition.
Thank you!
