Hey folks, today I’m sharing another bright and refreshing drink that’s perfect for warm weather and easy entertaining. It’s light, aromatic, and beautifully balanced, with just enough complexity to make it feel special without any extra effort. So, let’s dive into this Lavender Peach White Sangria.

What is Sangria?

Sangria is a vibrant alcoholic beverage from Spain and Portugal. It traditionally blends red wine, chopped fruit, and various spirits. Oranges, lemons, and apples are classic additions, but the choice of fruit is limitless. Classic sangria often features brandy or orange liqueur, such as Triple Sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier. However, you can experiment with different spirits, especially flavored liqueurs, to create unique twists.

A Sangria is a light (yet with a boozy kick, thanks to the mixing of different alcohols) and refreshing drink. It is known for its complexity and the combination of sweet and tart notes. That’s why it is a perfect summer cocktail!

Why You’ll Love This Lavender Peach White Sangria

  • Fresh and fruity: Juicy peach flavour shines through.
  • Light and refreshing: Perfect for summer gatherings.
  • Subtle herbal note: Lavender adds depth without overpowering.
  • Easy to make: Minimal prep and great for batching.
  • Elegant and colourful: Beautiful presentation in a pitcher or glass.

Stone Fruit and Lavender Pairings

You probably already know that lavender pairs with stone fruit flavours. This includes baked goods like scones or cakes, as well as drinks and savoury dishes like salads. The floral notes of lavender beautifully complement the sweetness and juiciness of stone fruits such as apricots, peaches, nectarines, and plums.

So, today we are diving into a luscious combination of lavender and peaches in this refreshing sangria.

Flavour Profile

This lavender peach white sangria is light, crisp, and slightly aromatic. The white wine provides a refreshing base, while peach liqueur adds a soft, rounded sweetness.

Lavender contributes a gentle herbal note that blends seamlessly with the fruit, enhancing the overall aroma rather than standing out. The result is a smooth, refreshing drink with a clean finish and delicate complexity.

What Makes This Sangria Special?

This white wine sangria stands out thanks to its balanced flavour combination:

  • Peach: Sweet, juicy, and naturally vibrant.
  • Lavender: Adds a subtle herbal aroma.
  • White wine: Keeps the drink light and crisp.

Together, they create a refreshing and slightly refined take on traditional sangria.

Ingredients You’ll Need for Lavender Peach White Wine Sangria

To make this fun Apricot Lavender Sangria recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • White wine – the base spirit of this sangria. I used Pinot Grigio, but any good-quality wine of your choice will work just as well. I recommend going with a light, medium-dry, or semi-sweet wine, but that’s up to you. A rosé can be a nice substitution, too.
  • Peach liqueur or brandy – the flavour modifier, and also adds sweetness.
  • Lavender Simple Syrup – adds subtle floral aroma. Because peach liqueur is already quite sweet, you can reduce the sweetness by adding less sugar to the syrup. Normally, you require a ratio of 1:1, i.e., one cup of water to one cup of sugar; however, you can reduce the sugar to half for this recipe.
  • Peaches – don’t use frozen fruit for this recipe, as it will look too mushy. You can also add apricots, pears, cherries, etc.
  • Ice cubes – for serving.
  • Club soda or sparkling water – an optional ingredient if you prefer a lighter sangria.

Possible Additions

Although this white wine sangria with lavender and peaches is already tasty, you can make it even more exciting:

  • Lemon or orange: Add for extra freshness; besides, citrus fruits go wonderfully with lavender.
  • Use rosé wine: For a slightly different flavour profile.
  • Mint: Add some fresh mint leaves for an extra layer of flavour.
  • Use other liqueurs, such as apricot brandy or triple sec, as a substitute for peach liqueur.
  • Add a little honey for added sweetness. Or – use honey to make lavender syrup.

How to Choose the Best Wine for White Sangria

  • Use dry or semi-dry white wine.
  • Avoid overly sweet wines.
  • Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, or similar styles work well.

  1. Contrary to popular belief, not many Spaniards drink Sangria! We have spent several months for several years there and I’ve only seen tourists drink it! Now, having said that, if they didn’t drink this sangria, they would surely be missing out. It looks so refreshing and tasty.

  2. Your lavender simple syrup is getting a good workout these days! This sangria sounds very good, especially as Tucson is still so hot. I think I might choose an Albariño or Verdejo for this drink!
