Blackberry Lavender Cocktail

This Blackberry Lavender Cocktail is also light and fruity. I consider this a delightful dessert-style cocktail. For this cocktail, you will need extra dry Martini Vermouth and gin, which you can swap for rum if you prefer. Either way, this will be luscious!

Obviously, you will need to make Lavender Simple Syrup first. But I wouldn’t say the herbal flavour is quite distinctive. Blackberries play the predominant role here. By the way, if you don’t like lavender, you can easily use other herbs such as fresh mint, basil, or tarragon here.

But I certainly hope you’re fine with lavender, and you will try this Blackberry Lavender Cocktail soon. If you make it, let me know in this post or send me an Instagram message or share you photos adding the hashtag #havocinthekitchen.

Cheers and happy weekend!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (35-40 g.) fresh blackberries

  • 2 oz. (60 ml.) extra dry Martini Vermouth

  • 1 oz. (30 ml.) gin

  • 1/2 to 1 oz. (15-30 ml.) of lavender syrup

  • juice of 1/2 to 1 lime

  • 1/3 cup crushed ice

  • fresh mint, blackberries, lavender, for garnish (optional)

Directions

  • Combine the blackberries, lavender syrup, lime juice and process until pureed using a blender or immersion blender. Try and adjust the sweetness or tartness by adding more of lime juice or lavender syrup.
  • Combine the pure with the martini vermouth and ice in a shaker. Shake about 30 seconds to combine.
  • Filter the cocktail for a stronger version or serve with some ice, but keep in mind that an additional ice will dilute already delicate and light cocktail even further.
  • Serve immediately, garnished if desired. Enjoy!
