Creamy, dreamy, sweet, and outrageously delicious, this Fig Walnut Honey Oatmeal is a cross between a breakfast idea and a sweet dessert-like concoction.

Apple Season: To Be or Not To Be?
Hello everyone and happy Monday! (let’s disregard this headache I’ve been having since I woke up!) That being said, this is a good excuse to keep it REALLY short and sweet today. You know me – I cannot promise it short, but I can assure you this s going to be a very sweet recipe.
By the way, last week I shared, as promised, two apple recipes. If you missed them, these are Irish Cream Apple Crêpes and Apple Leather (Fruit Roll-Ups). Please document this fact! Can I now close the apple season and proceed with all the figs and wild mushrooms again? lol No worries, though. I still have at least one apple recipe to share with you. Specifically, it’s going to be an apple cheesecake. But for now, let me focus on something else.
I believe we all should focus on this luscious Fig Walnut Honey Oatmeal.
Fig Walnut Honey Oatmeal
Fig Walnut Honey Oatmeal is a truly delightful recipe with the sauce reminding me the flavours and textures of a baklava and Turkish delights. Plus, a little pinch of lavender, but this is totally optional. It works nicely, though.
After all, it’s all about a sticky buttery cinnamony nutty sauce. I know fresh figs are not available for some folks from the US; however do not be upset. This is a great recipe when you can utilize dried figs. Just get some good Turkish figs (they tend to be softer), soak them in some warm water or even alcohol (Boozy oatmeal – isn’t it a dream?), and then chop roughly. (The pieces are still going to be slightly chewy compared to fresh figs, so it’s better to chop them rather than just half or quarter.)
I hope I was able to convince you to give this recipe a try. It’s a legit way to enjoy a dessert for your breakfast. And yes – I was finally able to keep it short and sweet. Good job, Ben (On both the recipe and post haha.)
Cheers for now.

Omgoodness! I love oatmeal anyways, and you really took this to the next level! So full of textures and flavors. Pinning! xo
Ooo – I like the new recipe plugin! I also like this recipe. I’ve been on an oatmeal kick for breakfasts lately, and I happen to have packets of oatmeal with dried dates and raisins. They are tiny, though. I’m thinking I need to make a legit bowl of oatmeal like you did here – this is perfect for the chilly mornings!
