White Chocolate Martini

This White Chocolate Martini is a luscious and smooth after dinner cocktail (aka dessert cocktail). The idea is similar to this White Chocolate Cocktail; however, the flavour profile of this new variation is more complex. It is quite sweet, but probably not as sweet as Bailey’s and similar liquors. And of course, you can always adjust the sweetness, too.

Normally similar cocktails use vanilla liquor and vodka, often vanilla one. Here I used melted with some cream and cooled white chocolate which I incorporated with the remaining ingredients. Vodka here is the body of the cocktail, and you can swap it for another neutral spirit like white rum. The main flavour comes from Cointreau (use any other Triple sec), real vanilla seeds (Use good quality vanilla extract or even swap for freshly grated nutmeg), and orange juice. The last one is optional – you can totally use more Cointreau for a stronger version and the added flavour!

As always, any cocktail can be adjusted to your preferences. For instance, use less of white chocolate or play with ratio of spirits. The batch I offer is quite large – enough for 4-6 servings. Certainly, you can make less of it. But any leftovers will be fine refrigerated for a day or two (I bet longer as another cream liquor, but it didn’t last that long!), so you can enjoy sipping it throughout the holidays.

So I hope you like this White Chocolate Martini, and you will give it a try soon. If you make it, let me know in this post or send me anĀ InstagramĀ message or share you photos adding the hashtag #havocinthekitchen.

Merry Christmas!

This festive White Chocolate Martini is a rich and smooth dessert cocktail made with vodka, Cointreau, chocolate, and real vanilla bean.

  • 70-100 gr. white chocolate, finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup heavy (whipping) cream

  • 3 oz. Cointreau or other Triple sec

  • 3 oz. vodka

  • 2/3 – 1 oz. freshly squeezed orange juice (optional)

  • 1/2 – 1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scrapped (or use 1 tsp. good vanilla extract or swap for freshly grated nutmeg)

  • orange zest for garnish, optional

  • In a small saucepan combine the cream and white chocolate (use 70 gr. for a less sweet option) over low heat, whisking until melted. Remove from heat and cool until room temperature.
  • In a shaker, combine the white chocolate mixture with vodka, Cointreau, orange juice (if using), and vanilla seeds and vigorously shake for about 30 seconds, until fully incorporated. Enjoy right away or chill for 15-30 minutes. You can keep any leftovers refrigerated for 1-2 days – just quickly shake the cocktail once again before serving. Enjoy!
