Jump to RecipeHello everyone. Cheers to the weekend!
Can anyone believe it’s December 18th already? Less than a week until the holidays! Gosh, I disagree. Where can I file my complaint? I still have a few festive ideas to share with you!
That being said, we don’t have too much time for chatting. We still need to eat so many cookies and have so many luscious cocktails, right? :) Talking about cocktails, I’ve developed and shared quite a few for this holiday season. I hope you like them.

Rosemary Orange Cocktail
And I am so excited to share this Rosemary Orange Cocktail, too. I use rosemary for garnishing drinks quite often. I actually used it to infuse cocktails, too. So I figured out the holiday version would be lovely. Why holiday? Because in my book, rosemary and spruce have very similar notes in their scent. What can be more wintery than spruce and rosemary then, right? Also, some sugared cranberries and rosemary as a festive garnish.
There’s also the addition or orange (Orange liquor and zest) which goes so well together. While I haven’t tried this myself yet, I think you can also make a rosemary orange (or rosemary cranberry) mimosa, if you are looking for a lighter cocktail. This cocktail, though, is moderately strong. As always, you can adjust it to your taste by making stronger or lighter.
I hope you like this refreshing Rosemary Orange Cocktail, and you will give it a try soon. If you make it, let me know in this post or send me an Instagram message or share you photos adding the hashtag #havocinthekitchen.
Cheers!

Ingredients
- Rosemary Syrup:
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1-2 tbsp. honey
2-3 small rosemary sprigs
1 tbsp. orange zest
1tbsp. orange juice (optional)
- Cocktail:
1 part whiskey (or rum, gin or vodka)
1 part orange liquor
1/2 to 1 part of rosemary syrup
few ice cubes, optional
Directions
- For the syrup, combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil then simmer 2-3 minutes. Cool for about 30-40 minutes letting the aromatics to infuse the syrup then discard the rosemary and orange zest. This syrup will be enough for 6-8 cocktails. You can reduce the amount or utilize it for other recipes (Like syrup for pancakes, etc.)
- For the cocktail, in the shaker combine one part of strong alcohol (I used whiskey), one part of orange liquor, 1/2 to 1 part of the syrup (Start with 1/2 and then adjust because one part would result in a sweeter version), and ice if using. Shake for 30-40 seconds then filter and discard the ice. Enjoy!

I do enjoy orange + rosemary, but I’ve never tried it in a cocktail! This sounds like a really fun Christmas drink. I’m thinking I need to light a fire, put my feet up and sip on one of these! Cheers, Ben!

I’m loving all of your cocktails for the holidays, but so far this is my favorite. I’ve always loved orange and rosemary together — in drinks and dishes. The scent of the two together is incredible. As is the flavor. Lovely. :-) ~Valentina
