Hello everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend, and you’re ready to tackle new week.
As I mentioned in my previous post (And hey – if you missed it – you should definitely check these Maple Shortbread Cookies. I insist!), I am ready to kick off the holiday season. And here we go, I kept my promise.
I need to clarify I am NOT ready for the holiday season. Nor I feel the holiday vibe. It’s way too early. I expect it happens in three weeks or so (Sometime around American Thanksgiving). However, this way I started to develop, make, and photograph holiday recipes almost a month ago. last week I already had more than ten developed recipes. Well, three more – I’ve been very productive during the weekend! LOL
But I hope you don’t mind me kicking off the holiday season so early. In fact, I hope you join me soon!
Rosé Wine Cranberry Sauce
On the other hand, this Rosé Wine Cranberry Sauce would be perfect for any time of the year. But with the holiday season approaching (hey, it’s Thanksgiving just in two weeks!), this would be an excellent sauce! Please also check this Cranberry Almond Relish.
It’s tart, sweet, and most importantly, boozy. Yes, as you can guess, it’s made with Rosé Wine! Please keep in mind it’s quite sour, so you can adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or sugar.

1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 small whole nutmeg, ground
1/8 tsp. cardamom
Directions
- In a medium pot (saucepan) combine 1 cup of Rosé wine, cranberries, honey, sugar, orange zest, and spices. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered and stirring occasionally, for about 7 minutes, or until the cranberries are soft. Try and adjust the sweetness, if necessary.
- Stir in the remaining cup of wine and simmer for one minute. Off heat and let it fully cool. Enjoy!

I love the sound of this cranberry sauce, too, but I can’t get past the most recent one you posted with Cointreau.
I’ve never had cranberry sauce made with wine and it sounds brilliant! As always, I love your beautiful and festive photos. :-) ~Valentina
I love homemade cranberry sauce. Never thought to “spike” it but I like the idea… ;-)
Great idea pairing cranberries with rose — always got that on hand, will have to try it for the holidays!
We’re starting to get into the holiday spirit here! This is always a funny time of the year as I want to appreciate American Thanksgiving, but Christmas is nipping at its heels. Either way, I do love a good cranberry sauce – they’re so easy to make at home! This version with Rose sounds fun!

I’ve used port and brandy and sherry and many others, but never rosé! What a great idea, and what a pretty sauce and photos.
This Rose Wine Cranberry Sauce looks so elegant Ben! The flavors and the color are just showstopping. Absolutely perfect with Thanksgiving coming up, and I can also see this pairing well with so many things year-round!

Sadly, we don’t get fresh cranberries here. I’m not even thinking about Christmas yet.
