This Chocolate Lavender Blackberry Pasta is an unusual yet scrumptious summer lunch, dinner or…dessert!

Yes, you are not being delusional, my friends. Your eyes aren’t lying to you. It’s true. This is indeed Chocolate Lavender Blackberry Pasta. And although it might sound peculiar, it’s delicious.
As the matter of fact, I’ve posted some sweet&savory pasta ideas on this blog. The most whimsical are these Lavender Blackberry Pasta, Chocolate Pasta with Nutella Whiskey Sauce, and Limoncello Pasta.
There are also few not so whimsical flavors such as Strawberry Ricotta Basil Pasta or Raspberry Poppy Seed Pasta.
You might be wondering where all these crazy ideas come from? I have no idea. Probably, from my natural creativity:)
In fact, when I was a kid, and my sister was a teenager, we used to eat a sweet kind of pasta once in a while. Nothing fancy. We (my sister) would cook pasta, add in a little of butter, and then lightly sprinkle with granulated sugar. Sounds awful? I know! But I did like it.
Don’t ask me when and how this idea was born. But I bet we weren’t the only people. I think this might have been an attempt to satisfy the sweet tooth while lacking many sweet options in Russia back those years.

Also, I recall that my mom, as well as many other people, used to make some kind of sweet pasta casserole. Sounds horrible? That wasn’t too bad indeed. Imagine cooked pasta (normally people used thin kinds of pasta like vermicelli) mixed with milk, eggs, some butter, sugar, and vanilla and then baked until a lovely crust. That casserole would usually be served with some preserves like strawberry or raspberry jam. I’m telling you – it wasn’t that bad as it may sound.
Many years (It’s better to say decades, but I don’t want to disclose my age. It’s enough to know it was a long time ago) have passed, but all my sweet&savory ideas might be originated from my childhood.
There’s only one thing. I will not eat pasta with sugar (Sounds gruesome now). My ideas are a little more sophisticated now.
Like this Chocolate Lavender Blackberry Pasta. This week I’ve posted sorbet featuring the combo of chocolate and lavender. That was an utterly delicious dessert!
Having had a dessert, now it’s time for some real food…oh boy, I think technically it’s hard to assign this sumptuous pasta to the only one category. Because as I said, it’s both main dish and dessert at the same time. I don’t mind having a dessert for dinner, though. What about you?
