Dulce de Leche Cake Donuts

DSCN3853 - копия (2)Are you sick and tired of this gloomy weather?

If not, perhaps you are among those fortunate folks living in the warm parts of our World. I know some food bloggers bragging to have over 20-30 degrees C. I am so jealous happy for them!

In a meanwhile, the weather in Ontario sucks. It has been raining for a few days in a row now. It has been raining cats and dogs. Yesterday I got sucking wet. I hear you’re suggesting to grab an umbrella the next time. Thanks folks but that doesn’t work at all. This is Ontario, Toronto, with its prominent notorious winds. Our rain is the way smarter – it’s just happening under a peculiar angle.

Roasted Beets, Barley and Feta Salad

DSCN6207 It may hard to believe, but we generally eat quite healthy. Most of our meals are salads as the main course. We don’t eat that much meat. We often have poultry, once in a while beef, and almost never pork. We’ve substituted regular bacon for chicken one.

We eat lots of veggies too.

We don’t eat out basically because it’s difficult to control what do you consume. And because being quite an experienced home chef, it’s extremely difficult to be pleased with the food you are served. We are kind of picky guys.

Sauteed Tomatoes Polenta

DSCN5701

I’ve got to confess. I’ve been having a kick on polenta recently.

To be honest, my kitchen adventures are about these kicks. It’s kind of balancing out, and usually I lose going ridiculously far. The good example is cake doughnuts which I’ve been baking unstoppably for a few months now.

I guess that means being a passionate person. Yes, I am a very passionate guy!

On the other hand, polenta is definitely not doughnuts. I mean at least it’s a healthier thing to make, without any notorious background. And thus, there is nothing to be embarrassed cooking, eating and posting the pictures of your polenta on the Internet.

Pizza Snails

DSCN8610Being a cook and food blogger, there is never ever enough time. No, I am not talking about our time- and effort- consuming passion and attempts to squeeze it in our schedule. That’s obvious. Everyone has a family, friends, children, partners, spouses, pets, and garden at last (Please choose an option suitable for you. That can be a multiple choice. Thanks).

OMG. I’ve totally forgotten to mention our work and  studying. This could be quite a time-consuming thing to do, right?:)

Indeed, this passion is about the compromise – you will always try to squeeze in your schedule, occasionally ditching your family, friends, children, and partners (you know the whole list of these obstacles) in order to make a sophisticated dish, take 350 pictures of this dish, then spend a few hours sorting out the pictures and finally writing a blog post. In return, your folks will be allowed to eat some scrumptious (hopefully) food you’ve made. I think it’s quite a good deal, isn’t it?

Roasted Grapes, Feta and Hazelnuts Salad

DSCN1816

Such a poignant, poignant, situation my friends!

I’ve been blogging for an inconsiderable amount of time only, but I have already been associated with a donut factory. Indeed, that started on Instagram about two months ago. I don’t want the reputation of unstoppable cake-donut maker!

I am just kidding though. I am totally fine with this reputation and those jokes I am getting. There is nothing wrong to be connected with the particular food. Indeed, it’s kind of cool too since that does mean you are good at doing something. Plus, it’s just a time frame and, hence, I will be having another outstanding feature, sooner or later. What about deep-fried donuts, folks? :)

Easter Nest Cookies

DSCN6888

Easter is one of the most solemn and significant holidays with the deepest historical and religious roots. However, besides this context Easter has always been one of the brightest time of a year to me.

Easter is about living up everything around us. Easter is about the anticipation of spring coming after long (in sometimes saviour) winter. Easter is about birds coming home.

Easter is about lovely symbols such as bunnies or even better chocolate bunnies :)
