Happy New Weight Year!

Let me ask you first how was your holiday season? Did you enjoy it? Did you travel somewhere or stay home cozy and warm? Did Santa bring you some fabulous presents? Did you have enough scrumptious meals? And the most important question is have you got a few extra but desired pounds as the result of those scrumptious meals? Sorry for asking such a personal question, but it would be just nice to know I’m not the only one. Let’s suffer together:)

Or let’s better pretend those extra pounds are so called water weight which would be easily dropped once you’re back to a normal lifestyle. However, as per the Internet, an average person could have a few pounds of water weight at once so there’s a possibility you’ll still need to work hard to get rid of these pounds.

That’s okay, though. I don’t regret. Christmas time is about some extra pounds, I believe.

Irish Cream Nanaimo Bars. My January Tradition

But honestly, I’m happy to be finally back to my normal menu. Seriously, my body is craving for simple stuff like buckwheat, veggies, light soups and salads.

And January is going to be all about this kind of meals. But first, let’s enjoy some Irish Cream Nanaimo Bars. I mean, it’s a bad idea to reduce all the sweets at once!

Indeed, it seems to be a good tradition to post a Nanaimo Bars recipe in January. Look, last year the second recipe here was Nanaimo Bars. And now I’m presenting these boozy Irish Cream Nanaimo Bars. How awesome is that?

Boozy and Only Zero Calories

You see, there’s even the same Christmas tree in the background:) Just joking. It’s a new one. But with my favorite Canadian ornaments. I told you, it’s a tendency!

Creamy, dreamy, boozy, and scrumptious, there Irish Cream Nanaimo Bars also have zero calories in each piece. Kidding again. They have minus 100 calories in each morsel so they would be a great addition to your diet!

How does this sound now?

    Hello Ben

I’ve been to Nanaimo, BC. It’s beautiful out West. I’ve also made Nanaimo Bars many times, only the original way. This recipe is calling my name, and I can foresee this happening this weekend. You mentioned that you did not use ‘custard powder’ when you made your previous Nanaimo Bars. What did you use instead?

    Happpyyyyy New Year Ben!
Hahaha – yes, I agree, a little weight gain (wether that maybe water or not) seems to go hand in hand with the holidays! As for these Nanaimo bars, if they were 100+100 calories or -100, I would still love to get my hands on them – I mean, how could I resist a “creamy, dreamy, boozy, and scrumptious …Nanaimo Bar?” right?
Hope 2017 is a wonderful year for ya!

So I just had my first Nanaimo Bar over the holidays at the curling club. One of my teammates is from Canada, and she made them for us. Amazing! So I can only imagine how good these would taste with the Irish Cream twist. Mind blown, Ben. Also, if you have leftovers, I’ll be happy to take care of them for you. These look amazing! Hope 2017 has been good to you so far!
