Even though I’m not a football fan at all, I’ve noticed a tremendous food blogger’s contributions to this season.

I mean, football? What the hell is that indeed?

All right, I’m just kidding. Who doesn’t know football? This odd game where a lot of men running on a flat icy area with sticks and rubber disks?

As you see, I’m not that bad at all, haha.

Never mind.

Anyways, I couldn’t agree more that finger food is a perfect option for any TV season. Puffs, sliders, spring rolls, nachos, hand pies, wings, dips, and many other good (and sure healthy) things. Shall I continue?

Yes, dips.

Creamy Tuna Dip

I might be a lousy sport game buff, but I do know how to make a good dip.

And – surprise – I’ve got some hearty stuff, my dear football fans! What about this Creamy Tuna Dip? Does it sound fabulous? Not enough. That’s right. Sounds bland. What about this: Delicious and delicate Creamy Tuna Dip with ricotta, sweet red onions, chives, dill, and smoked paprika? That’s another story!

I made this yummilicious dip first time ever in 2013. I repeated it last year. Twice. And then repeated this summer. Do you see a trend? Believe me, I won’t be repeating one dish again and again If I didn’t love it.

Plus, you can vary the ingredients having a slightly new flavor and texture every new time. I would say ricotta and the onions should remain. But you can substitute red onions for shallots. You can take a part of ricotta and a part of cream cheese for more smooth and velvety consistency. Add some Dijon mustard for a pungent flavor. A tablespoon of chopped capers would introduce some piquant flavor. And so on.

It’s totally fine. At least, I’m experiencing that so it’s absolutely accepted.

But there’s one thing that hasn’t changed for these 3 years. Sweet potato crackers. I found them exactly 3 years ago in the store, and they perfectly paired with this Creamy Tuna Dip. Slightly sweet and savory and so crunchy. Mmm…please, don’t judge me for using the bought crackers.

You can always grab whatever you love, from flatbread to breadsticks.

And the most exciting thing, guys, you don’t need to be a football fan to enjoy this creamy deliciousness.

You won’t be disappointed.

But what about you, guys? Do you belong to those pals watching football games? How many delicious things have you already made and eaten/going to? Does this Creamy Tuna Dip deserve to be served as a TV games snack (not a proposal – just an idle question)?

You’ve been on a roll updated old posts, Ben! That means you’ve been on a roll enjoying some old favorites in your house. I bet Andrey is quite happy with this! I mean this dip sounds just as delicious now as it did in 2015…and it would still be good served while watching football! :-)

Ha ha I totally agree .. what is it with football?! I went to a game last year (free tickets!) and I swear they spent 90% of the time regrouping and reorganizing.

Now soccer … that’s a game I can get behind. Those guys have talent.

Love that you’ve taken canned tuna up a notch, or twenty. I’ll definitely have to make this.

My daughter is the one who watches football/soccer in our house – me, I am ALL about the food! This would be an awesome dip to have around – for any time in front of the TV! I adore tuna and have made tuna salad/spread with yogurt and mustard but never with ricotta! This must have been so creamy, Ben!

I love that you used ricotta in your tuna dip…what a fun creation, Ben! I am 100%, most definitely in the “watch as much football as possible” camp. Saturdays (and Sundays) in our house are dedicated to lots and lots of football. I still do house chores…but I just keep one eye on the football game at the same time. Now I’ll have to find a third eye as I’ll need one for this dip, too! :-)
