Chocolate Lavender Protein Pancakes

These rich, delicious, and luscious Chocolate Lavender Protein Pancakes will appreciate all chocolate lovers.

I hope you all are doing fine enjoying the last week of the official summer. The weather has been surprisingly hot lately in Toronto. Many of July – August days weren’t as warm as they are now.

However, if you’re rather having gloomy and damp days, these Chocolate Lavender Protein Pancakes will certainly make you a little happier.

Wait. Have you noticed anything unusual? No, I’m not talking about lavender. The word “protein”!

There’s a thing. I’m totally fine with all these supplements and healthy foods people seem to be having a kick on. Moreover, I do take some of this stuff too.

As such, a few months back I was buying something for myself. That store often gives some little packages to promote the products, so I wasn’t surprised to have got one. My excitement didn’t last too long when I found out it was a package of chocolate protein powder.

There’s something that sounds a little gross to me. I consume a lot of poultry, tuna, yogurt, egg whites, legumes, and other things that are high in proteins. I even can have a protein granola bar once in a while (Although some of them might taste weird). However, the powdered protein sounds quite obnoxious to me. I don’t want to upset food bloggers who often incorporate protein in their recipes. These recipes and pictures 99% look and sound amazing! Except for this keyword “protein”.

Ironically, I was a happy owner of a large package of chocolate protein now!

First, I had been hiding it in the pantry between the other stuff. I might have hoped it would disappear one day (As chocolate and Irish cream tend to do). Nope, it didn’t.

Having been ignoring this desired package, I finally gave up and decided to give it a try. Obviously, I didn’t want to make a delightful cocktail or smoothie for a post-workout meal (grrrr). Instead, I decided to incorporate it in these Chocolate Lavender Protein Pancakes.

And you know what? It wasn’t bad at all. As the matter of fact, the pancakes turned out scrumptious and luscious. Chocolate, blueberries, and lavender make a beautiful combo. It’s just like eating…any normal chocolate pancakes, only a little healthier version.

So I might try some other protein-based dishes, especially considering the fact I’ve got 2/3 package of this chocolate protein left. Any ideas? In a meanwhile, if you’ve got sweltering weather, you might enjoy another chocolate lavender combo, this Chocolate Lavender Mint Sorbet.

14 Thoughts on “Chocolate Lavender Protein Pancakes

  1. These pancakes sound uniquely delicious! And wow! Your presentation is gorgeous!

  2. The weather here is everything but cold, Ben. I have to confess that don’t use protein powder often in my recipes, but that needs to change because I so want to enjoy these pretty chocolatey pancakes. I would love to wake up to these every morning. PS: The texture of these pancakes looks so pretty like a wooden log. :)

  3. I’m totally with ya here, Ben…I’m not a huge fan of using protein powder in my recipes. I guess I just like to keep it classic. And I like to get my protein in normal ways rather than with the powder. But with that said, these pancakes look amazing! Good for you for using that sample to make pancakes…I probably would’ve just tossed it in the trash. :-) And now I’m craving some good pancakes…mmm… These look amazing, my friend! Well done!

  4. I’m in agreement with you here Ben. I too consume my protein by eating specific types of food that contain protein. I’m not one for adding protein to recipes, I don’t believe in it myself!

However, I am a fan of pancakes and I would be willing and happy to try these chocolate lavender protein pancakes out. They look and sound absolutely delicious! :-)

  5. Guess we have one thing not in common, buddy, because I kinda like the word “protein” in recipes! It makes me feel like I can eat more of it and still feel like a good person! Lol!! Like these beautiful pancakes for example, I can eat at least 12 and not feel like a fatty all because of the word protein! ;) These are just stunning, Ben!! Cheers!!

  6. I totally agree with you–when recipes have the word “protein” in the title I almost always think the cookies/brownies/pancakes will be dense and just not as good as they look in the pictures. So thank you for setting me straight! This looks like the perfect breakfast (or dinner, if you’re me). Have a great week, Ben!

  7. These sound so interesting Ben!! And adding the protein powder definitely makes them healthier!! You are coming up with some amazing chocolate and lavender recipes :)
